Ornaments- Philip A. Buck

I went to what is often my default drawing:  Spider-man (with a badly drawn thumbs up.) I then sorta accidently made a tree that looks like a print...sorta...
I hope you enjoy and have a merry Christmas!

Week of Dec 12th- Christmas/holidays Theme!

Alright! Its that wonderful time of the year, and we are going to celebrate with a special Christmas (or whatever other holiday you celebrate) week here on the NEEDS MORE BLUE blog!  This week's topic is:
ORNAMENTS
I know everyone is busy, so all you have to do is make/take a photo of/draw/design your own ornament for the blog.  I have something fun planned for them at the end of the week (or at least before X-mas.) I hope everybody that can participates.  Have a wonderful and safe time during the holidays, friends!!!

KETCHUP: (dance) Music- Philip A. Buck

I was just going to do something quick to make up for missing the "music" week, but I liked it so much that I ran with it and made it a full fledged project. hehe. I haven't finished the biggy, but here I offer a sneak peek as my "music week" piece. :) Hope ya dig.
-Philip

EDIT: Since the Holidays are over, I've had a bit more time to finish up some projects- one of them being the peice inspired by the "music week" theme.  Here is a photo of it so far.

I'm still trying to decide whether or not I should watercolor it... what do yall think?

Getting Caught Up-Ghosts, Eyes, Balloons

Little Princesses

Okay, so I took these on the honeymoon but they are probably my 2 favorite "photography photos" I took. (yes, I know the 1st isn't actually a princess, but she looks like a princess to me!)

Disney Princesses- Philip A. Buck

Like usual, I got carried away.  Originally, my much to ambitious plan was to have all of them in the scene, but it was taking so long that this is all I've been able to get done so far.  Maybe I will get to finish it some other time.

Great pick, Sarah!

Alright maggots, it's time for another death-defying 60-second challenge. Put your game faces on. And consider leaving them on for the rest of the week, cuz lets face it, your real face ain't exactly what the French would call "Brad Pitt-esque".

...ANYTHING.
IT CAN BE A REAL PICTURE.
OR A DRAWN PICTURE.
JUST BEARD IT UP.

Battle of the Monsters in 60 Seconds!

Game on!

This Week's Theme Is...

MUSIC!

Maybe it's your favorite radio hit, or just a lovely melody that happened right now in your head. So what would that sound look like on paper?

If you choose a particular song to translate and you feel like sharing which one that was, don't hesitate to mention it when you post your images!

Have fun all,

SF

60-second challenge amendment

i think it's fair to legitimize the practice of drawing + scanning into the by-laws of the 60-second challenge, in case you don't have MS paint, or you'd just rather draw...

This week: GHOSTS!

When we first started putting this blog project together, I couldn't help but immediately come up with a topic! Little did I know that it would be very timely, as my turn to choose would land so close to HALLOWEEN!

Any, my topic (chosen in August, mind you) is... GHOSTS!!! (or ghost)
Have fun! I'm out of town, but I'll try to get mine up soon.

Eyes- Philip A. Buck

I just threw this together real quick after seeing this painting (I believe its a close up on a Lichtenstein.) I changed it a fair bit as I tried to quickly brush it. I used a Pentel Color Brush with black ink and then just took a snapshot of it with my digital camera (then increased contrast etc.)
Again, a great theme! See you at C-N's Homecoming?

Sketches- Philip A. Buck

Here are some snapshots I took of stuff in my sketch book a while back- I figured they'd be good to post for SKETCHES week!

Did you see the cast of Seinfeld in that last one?

I did these lil gals yesterday. As you can probably tell, when I randomly sketch, it often results with superheroes and villians.

I hope ya dig 'em. I can't wait to see everyone else's "sketches!"
-Phil
ps. I often put sketches and process drawings up on my site :)
