The Balloons take baby to the beach and Ronald sees the doctor.

Sketches- Philip A. Buck

Here are some snapshots I took of stuff in my sketch book a while back- I figured they'd be good to post for SKETCHES week!

Did you see the cast of Seinfeld in that last one?

I did these lil gals yesterday. As you can probably tell, when I randomly sketch, it often results with superheroes and villians.

I hope ya dig 'em. I can't wait to see everyone else's "sketches!"
-Phil
ps. I often put sketches and process drawings up on my site :)

sept.21 Topic/Theme: Sketches- Jessica Hill

The new topic is SKETCHES
You can be a bit more loose with this one (especially you photo folks,) but it should be a really fun way to do something quick, creative, and maybe even challenging? (which is what this blog is all about :) )
As always, have fun!

Fall Bugs- Philip A. Buck

Here is my drawing for Gretchen's awesome pick.
I took her advice and decided to use puns :)

I was a little tire/lazy/rushed so I messed up the layers during coloring, but I had done so much on it before I realized it that I just kept goin. (Thus the weirdness of some of the yellows)

If you want to see the sketches and original B&W, check it out over on my website.

Thanks for stopping in!

Third Theme: FALL (BUGS) -Gretchen Hill

Since fall is just around the corner, this week's theme is Autumn, but with a twist. Let me see your best fall bug, or something like that. There is a lot of opportunity to use puns with this theme, so have fun! :)

Ozymandias - Daniel Aisenbrey

uh...kinda stretched for this one, but I guess it's a more modern interpretation of hubris

OZYMANDIAS- Philip A. Buck

I threw together my little interpretation of the poem. (after I did some research haha) My lame scanner did, however squash the image. Oh well! :)

Cool choice, Daniel!

oh, and even though its already Friday night, I'm still....

FIRST!

Alright, here is my tree house! A little late but I couldn't get it to let me add the picture...grrr.
I'm messing with the html now to see if i can post like that, some internal error thing.

I just realized that the resolution sucks on here so this is the link for my drawing

SECOND TOPIC
So I was informed that I was the topic-picker-guy for this week, and seeing as it's officially Sunday, I guess I'll pick something. But feel free to post your "Treehouse" stuff if you finish it late. Anyway, this week's topic is the poem Ozymandias by Percy Shelley. Here it is:

OZYMANDIAS

I met a traveller from an antique land

Who said: Two vast and trunkless legs of stone

Stand in the desert. Near them, on the sand,

Half sunk, a shattered visage lies, whose frown

And wrinkled lip, and sneer of cold command

Tell that its sculptor well those passions read

Which yet survive, stamped on these lifeless things,

The hand that mocked them and the heart that fed.

And on the pedestal these words appear:

"My name is Ozymandias, king of kings:

Look on my works, ye Mighty, and despair!"

Nothing beside remains. Round the decay

Of that colossal wreck, boundless and bare

The lone and level sands stretch far away.

Treehouse - Philip A. Buck

I meant to have this up sooner, but I kept getting carried away so it took longer than I thought. What was going to be a simple black and white doodle became this haha!

Great pick, Cory!

ps. yes, that is a net under the swings and a pair of elevators between the roots.
